Japanese Fundraiser – Hope

In the wake of the recent events in Japan, my fellow Studio 1482 members and I have decided to create a fundraising campaign. Donate $50 to the Red Cross to aid their efforts in Japan, and choose a limited edition print from any member of the studio. Please click HERE to view all eight prints available, and for more information.

My piece, Hope, depicts the white crane, symbol of happiness in Japan, and an intermediary between heaven and earth. I’ve used it to symbolize a prayer from the Japanese people to the world, and as a symbol of a brighter future in the midst of uncertainty. The crane flies in front of the Japanese garden lantern. The light from the lantern is a guide home, both literally and symbolically.

IN RESPONSE TO THE RECENT TERRIBLE EARTHQUAKE IN JAPAN AND THE TSUNAMIS IN THE PACIFIC, THE ILLUSTRATORS OF STUDIO 1482 HAVE EACH CREATED A PIECE OF ART TO RAISE MONEY ON BEHALF OF THE VICTIMS. PLEASE CLICK HERE FOR MORE INFORMATION.
